Frequently Asked Questions
Fahlix simply allows college students, faculty, and staff to list the movies they own, and search for movies they want to see. Fahlix will list the users that own the movie that was searched for, on their own college campus and setup the communication tools needed to borrow or swap the movie. So, let's say it's 11PM and you want to see Titanic. Fahlix will allow you to see who owns Titanic on your campus, you can even search specifically within the residence hall you live in..you never have to get out of your pajamas to watch that Leonardo Dicaprio gem. It's free and closer than your local big box movie rental store, and it's much quicker than certain online movie rental services which have you waiting by your mailbox. Plus, you might even meet a friend or two to watch your movies with along the way. Of course not! When someone requests to borrow a movie from you, you'll have the option to approve it (and discuss the swapping further) or deny the request. There is nothing wrong with denying a request! They are your movies, and you should make the judgment. If you only want to swap with the friends you already know on campus, that's perfectly fine. Keep in mind that after you agree to swap a movie, you can rate a user 1 - 5 as well as write a review for that user. Fahlix simply provides the communication tools between two people to make a successful swap possible. When you approve a movie request, you and the borrower are free to setup any further rules you both agree to follow, such as deposits, due dates, and late return penalties. If you move (and still go to school on the same campus) that's not problem, you can change your listed living location at anytime in your "Account Settings". If you quit or graduate university, you may remove your account with us. We are currently looking into an alumi account which still allows you to list and organize your own movies, but not swap with any other users. Currently, if you transfer to another university, there is no way to migrate your account over. Although you certainly encouraged to create another account at your new university and remove the old one. Absolutely. If you obtained the DVD legally, and it is a legal original copy (i.e. NOT A DUPLICATE) and the copyright of the DVD is not violated in anyway, you are free to trade it, sell it, swap it, loan it, bop it, etc. It's all thanks to the Right of First Sale Doctrine. Every Fahlix user agrees to the user agreements when they join the website. |
